The 2017 Trail World Championship took place in Badia Prataglia on June 10th 2017. The 50km championships event was run through the Sacred Forest and the runners witnessed some of the most scenic routes that they have never seen before.

Henri Ansio (FIN) made his move about  a third into the race and started featuring in second place during the middle sections. He held on for 4th place at the end.

Clemente ran a calculated event making his move in the last sections of the race to move past Fleureton to take silver medal. Daniel Garcia (ESP) brought home 5th place to guarantee Spain the team gold medal.

In the women´s race, Adeline Roche (FRA) took first place in 5:00:44. Amandine Ferrato (FRA) finished in second place followed by Silvia Rampazzo (ITA) in third place running  5:00:47 and 5:11:07 respectively.

Roche, Ragna Debats (NED) and Ladia Albertson (USA) were the early leaders. As the trails got steeper both going up and down, Roche increased her lead with Ferrato and Rampazzo moving into podium places. Debats moved down one spot from her bronze medal finish last year and Nathalie Mauclair (FRA) finished in 5th place getting France the gold in women´s team competition.
