Live Update Belves 100km European Championships

Ladies Champion is Kajsa Berg (SWE) in 7.38.51 with a strong finish. 2nd to finish was the Russian Irina Antropovain 7.42.52 with GBR Sue Harrison 3rd lay in 7.48.10 and 4th lady the Russian llady Irina Pavilovskaya in 7.49.22  

We will be updating you further in a few hours time when we have the official results agreed with LOC and the FFA.

Live Coverage will be available during the MIAUCs and will be posted in this section. Next MIAUC is 50km World Trophy Final, Galway, IRL (August 29 2010). This is followed by 23rd 100km World and European Championship, Gibraltar (November 7 2010).

Live Coverage from Steenbergen

24 Hour World and European Championships in Steenbergen, the Netherlands. 
 

 

 

 

 We must now check the final results and prepare for the Prize Giving Ceremony so keep an eye on the Steenbergen site for the final results.  Return to the IAU website later more in depth interviews from the athletes in the race and any further information.

Ladies teams:- World Championships USA, JPN, FRA,  European FRA, GBR and GER.  However for the men it is very close the World Champions are the USA.  However there are only 2 km separating GER and RUS and this might depend on the final additional measurement.  ITA are third in the European Championships

 
The interim final results are on the Steenbergen website.  The final additional distances on the lap are being measured and added to these before we can have the final published results.  However meanwhile we congratulate all the runners but especially the Championship medallists.  Winners of the World Championships are Olsen ( USA) and Kudo ( JPN)

 

For the Ladies 24H World Championships the Medallists are Kudo (JPN), Little ( USA) and Bon (USA) and for the Europeans (Vernet (FRA) Nissen (FRA) and Law (GBR)

For the Men 24H World Championships, the medallists were Olsen ( USA), Dennis ( USA) and Reus (GER) and the Europeans Reus (GER) Kruglicov (RUS) and Ronomarev (RUS)



The race has finished and has been won by all who took part.  We now have a new Ladies 24H Road World Best Performance of over 249K by Mami Kudo ( JPN)  - incredible performance under the conditions overnight.


1 Hr to go!  Olsen (USA) on with Dennis ( USA) ahead of Reus (GER)  by 10 mins on 249K and Kruglicov of 247K and Naraki  (JPN) on 245K

 

In the ladies race – Kudo (JPN) on 240K, Little ( USA) on 233K and Bon (USA) on 226K. For the Europeans its  Vernet (FRA), Lissen (FRA) and Law (GBR)

In the Ladies team race, USA, JPN, FRA for Worlds FRA, GBR & GER for Europeans. 

In the Mens teams race, its USA, JPN, GER for Worlds, GER, RUS, ITA for Europeans

 

After 22 hrs Olsen in the lead however Dennis has pulled away from Kruglicov and  Reus who are still together. The ladies order is still the same. and so is the team order.

After 21 hours, Olsen (USA) is well in the lead with 238K Kruglicov (RUS), Dennis (USA) and Reus (GER) on 229K.  A match for the silver and bronze medal is developing and the Gold for the European Championships.

21Hrs  Ladies 1st 3 still Kudo ( JPN) Little (USA) and Bon (USA).  Leading Europeans Nissen (FRA) Law (GBR) Vernet (FRA)

The men’s first three teams order remain the same but for the ladies USA, JPN are first two with FRA not GBR in 3rd.

 

 



For the teams after 19.5 hrs USA, JPN and RUS are close together for the men with USA, JON and GBR for the ladies

After 19H Olsen leads by 7K from Kruglicov then Dennis and Naraki, with Reus (Ger) and Ponomarev ( RUS) behind


In the ladies race, Kudo leads with Little 5K then its now Faallbo ( USA) and Bon ( USA) on the same lap in third and fourth

AFter 18H Early interim team results Men, USA, RUS and JPN very close with JPN USA and GBR for the ladies

After 18H of the race, it is now light and the first three are Olsen (USA) with 205K, then Kruglicov (RUS) with 201K and Dennis (USA)& Naraki with  196K

Then Reus (GER)  Poromarev (RUS).

Kudo ( JPN) leads the ladies with 192K with Little (USA) now in second with 185K and Sakane (JPN) on 180K,



Back on line early - its 05.30 here and been raining through the night . Currently 
Jon Olson with 199K in the lead followed by Krugolov on 194K and Naraki on 189K. with John Dennis close behind. In the ladies Kudo leads Sakane by 1 lap with Little ( USA) close behind. Further Americans Salbo and Bon following.a few km behind. Next update when we moved HQ at about 06.30.


We are going to take a four hour break here with Live Updates due to a shift change in the Live Update Team. But will resume on this space again at about 6:30am local time. However, the Live Results reporting will continue on the LOC website as has been all day long!

Its raining pretty hard here. Has been for the last two hours. I give athletes a lot of credit for pushing through the night in this weather. A true inspiration!

14hr: Olsen (USA) and Kruglicov (RUS) are on the same lap. They are followed by Radzikowski (POL), Naraki (JPN) and Cudin (ITA)

In the women´s race: Sakane (JPN) and Kudo (JPN) are on the same lap and going for the 100 Mile Asian Record. Little (USA), Falbo (USA0 and Lubics (HUN) are running in the top 5.

13hr: Olsen (USA) moves in the lead. He is followed by Naraki (JPN), Radzikowski (POL), Kruglicov (RUS) and Cudin (ITA)

Women´s race: Sakane (JPN) and Kudo (JPN) are on the same lap. Little (USA), Falbo (USA0 and Gardner (USA) follow them.

12hr: Naraki (JPN) has taken the lead again. Olsen (USA) is running in 2nd place followed by Kruglicov (RUS). Radzikowski (POL) is in 4th place followed by Abiko (JPN). 

Sakane (JPN) is running in the lead followed by a close catching Kudo (JPN). Little (USA) is in 3rd place followed by Lubics (Hun) and Falbo (USA) in 5th.

11hr: Radzikowski (POL) leading the race. Naraki (JPN) is running 2nd with Olsen in 3rd position. Kruglicov (RUS) is in 4th place followed by Abiko (JPN) in 5th. Radzikowski is running very well in the lead.

Women´s race: Sakane (JPN) is running in 1st place followed by Kudo (JPN) in 2nd and Little (USA) moving to 3rd. Lubics (HUN) in 4th and Traci Falbo (USA) in 5th. Sakane is running strong and Kudo moving into 2nd place with a very relaxed run with lots to spare in the 2nd half.

10hr: Radzikowski (POL) is leading the race followed by Naraki (JPN) in 2nd place. Olsen (USA) is in 3rd place with Kruglicov (RUS) in 4th place followed by Abiko (JPN) in 5th place.

Women race: Sakane (JPN) first followed by Kudo (JPN) and Hawker (GBR). Little (USA) is in 5th place followed by Lubics (HUN).

9hr: Radzikowski (POL) is running very strong in the lead. Having taken a walk out to see the runners. He is going quite strong. Naraki (JPN) is running in 2nd place followed by Olsen (USA), Kruglicov (RUS) and Abiko (JPN). 

In the women´s race:  Sakane (JPN) is leading followed by Hawker (GBR) and Kudo (JPN) who are on the same lap. Little (USA) is in 4th place followed by Lubics (HUN) in 5th.


8hr: For the first time today we have a new leader. Radzikowski (POL) has moved into first place. Naraki (JPN) is in 2nd place now followed by Olsen (USA), Nilovs (LAT) and Kruglicov (RUS).

In the women´s race: Sakane (JPN) has a lead over Hawker (GBR) followed by Kudo (JPN), Lubics (HUN) and Gardner (USA).

7:30hr: Naraki (JPN) is still the leader of the race. Radzikowski (POL) is in 2nd place followed by Olsen (USA) who is running in 3rd place. Nilvos (LAT) is in 4th place and Kruglicov (RUS) has moved to 5th place.

In the women´s race: Sakane (JPN) is still leading therace. Hawker (GBR) is running in 2nd place. Mami Kudo is in the 3rd place and Little is in 4th place. Lubics (HUN) in 5th place

6hr: Naraki (JPN) is leading the way. Radzikowski (POL) follows him in 2nd place and then Actins in 3rd place. Abiko (JPN) and Sawicki (POL) have made their debut in the top 5.

In the women´s race: Sakane (JPN) has about a 2km lead on Hawker (GBR). Kudo (JPN) is in 3rd place followed by Little (USA) and Gardner (USA).

5hr: Naraki (JPN) is leading. He is followed by Radzikowski (POL) who has moved to second place. Actins (LAT) is in 3rd place followed by Nilovs (LAT). Szynal is in 5th place.

In the Women´s race: Sakane (JPN) is running strong in first place followed by Hawker (GBR) in 2nd. Kudo (JPN) is running 3rd followed by Little (USA) and Gardner (USA).

4hr: Naraki (JPN) is now leading. He has switched places with Actins (LAT) who is running second. Radzikowski is 3rd followed by Nilovs (LAT) in 4th and Szynal (POL) 5th. 

In the women´s race: No changes in the womem´s event. Sakane (JPN) is leading Hawker (GBR) and Kudo (JPN). Oka (JPN) is in 3rd place followed by Little (USA).

3hr: Actins (LAT) is leading followed by Naraki (JPN) and Nilovs (LAT) on 3rd place. Radzikowski (POL) is in 4th place followed by Szynal (POL) in 5th place

Sakane (JPN) is leading Hawker (GBR) and Kudo (JPN). Oka (JPN)is in 3rd place followed by Little (USA).

2hr: Actins (LAT) is leading the race at the 2hour mark. He is followed by Naraki (JPN) and Szynal (POL). Radzikowski (POL) is in 4th place followed by Posado Perez in 5th place.

In the women´s race: Sakane (JPN) leading the women´s race. She is followed by Hawker (GBR) and Kudo (JPN). Oka (JPN) in 4th place followed by Shirakawa (JPN)

1hr: The race is going well. The runners in the middle are running inclose packs. We do have a runner from Spain leading the men´s race and a runner from Japan leading the women´s.

7:30am: Overcast skies and it will be in the low to mid teens throughout the day. Quite the stellar field entered in the race. It will be an interesting race. Starts at noon.

The medical conference, the press conference, the technical meeing and the opening ceremonies went very well yesterday.
