100 km World Cup 2009 allocated to Torhout - Belgium !

While various Local Organising Committee’s are preparing the Major IAU Competition for this year (24H World Challenge in Seoul, Korea – 100 km World Cup in Tarquinia, Italy and the Trail World Challenge in Houston, USA), it is about time for us to look ahead and try to select the locations for next year.

An important decision which recently has been taken in this regard is the assignment of the 100 km World Cup which will take place in Torhout, Belgium in June 2009. At that occasion the “Night of Flanders” will celebrate the 30^th anniversary of the event. It is an experienced organisation, having staged previous editions of the 100 km World Cup in 1987 (the inaugural one), 1993 and 2002. After the successful try out of the new format at the occasion of the 2006 European Championship and being acquainted with the ambition of the organising team, we are confident that we can look forward to another excellent 100 km World Cup.
